Type: MEDIUM SOFT HARD Colour: Green Grey Brown Add to your Wish List Description Monster Makers Monster Clay is an oil/wax based medium which melts easily to a pourable consistency and is great for making copies of life casts where changes are needed. This Premium Grade Modelling Clay has a low-melt temperature and low-tack feel to prevent sticking to sculpting tools and hands, and is compatible with platinum silicone moulding compounds. When warm, your clay will provide high plasticity and elasticity - much like soft taffy - to ease moulding purposes. When at room-temperature, the clay will remain firm to capture the finer detailing. Your monster clay can be re-used and re-melted to make endless creations! Each block is individually packaged in a convenient, reusable oven-proof container. Read our Monster Clay user guide for more information on how to use it. Monster Clay is available in Soft, Medium, and Hard grades. Monster Clay is easily softened with a light bulb or a gas style oven. All grades of Monster Clay melt at 135°F / 57°C. The optimal temperature for melting and pouring is around 150°F / 65°C. Never exceed 180°F / 82°C. Be sure to periodically mix the clay during melting. To avoid component separation, be sure to completely mix the clay in its melted state, before pouring into your mould. Monster Clay is packaged in an oven-safe tray that can withstand temperatures up to 200°F/ 93°C. Monster clay is composed of non-toxic, food grade components and is sulphur-free. Once warmed, the clay is easy to manipulate into any form you want. The clay doesn’t stick to your hands, highlights any texture you imprint on its surface and although the clay becomes firm as it cools, it never sets into a solidified state, so you can continue to work on sculptures days or months after starting a project. The only negative aspect is that any sculpture you wish to make into a solid art piece would require an additional moulding process, so copies of your sculptures could be formed in a different material. As regards Mouldlife, the service they provide is efficient and the materials they supply are very cost effective. I have mainly used the company for acquiring the clay for my sculptures, but they have an extensive range of materials available and the service I have received has been excellent.
