It is used primarily by design studios and the entertainment industry for modelling, design, mock-ups and tooling. It isn't formulated to be fired in a kiln which not only saves costs but reduces the chances of cracking during the drying process. Originally developed for use in sculpting Disney's Animatronics models , WED (Walter E. Disney) clay is an extremely versatile water based clay with properties similar to many of today's most popular oil based clays. I keep it damp covered with a damp cotton cloth.The project that i am using this clay on is sculpting a full size waist and chest piece that will fit me. When finished i will mould with silicone and cast in resin. These two pieces are for my complete BSG Cylon remake, costume.I currently have atleast 150 lbs on my turntable and have purchased my second amount to finish.The clay is perfect what i wanted. The fact that i started a month ago and i know it will take me a few more the clay remains soft and moist.I have not found anywhere else that sells this cheaper than mouldlife. I love it.
